Kids as Authors
“California Sunset” is an example of Co-authoring that we do at Dyslexia Therapy of Pittsburgh. A true gem of a book with details about the fun that is possible on a family vacation in Northern California. This book was written by a boy with ADHD in therapy. This child author graduated significantly more focused and confident, and with a book to share with family and friends. Being creative is key to getting kids better at handwriting, spelling, reading and writing.

Tummy Time Prevents Flat Head Syndrome in Babies.
Dyslexia Therapy of Pittsburgh encourages babies and families to engage kids in tummy time in therapy and at home so they grow up great! We are all about prevention, and research indicates that the sooner kids at risk receive support, the better the long term outcome for the child.
This little Pittsburgh sweetheart got his picture taken and couldn’t help but show how much he loved tummy time. Many success stories involve successful flat head remediation, by teaching new parents how to position their kids during their first few month. NICU/premature babies often do very well when they leave the hospital provided good positioning strategies from Dyslexia Therapy of Pittsburgh!

Two Premature Darlings!
Two little girls were born at 28 weeks gestation, were in the NICU for several months before returning home on oxygen. They had one or two more emergency hospital visits before they turned 3 months old, and had difficulty with flat head syndrome due to positioning problems in the hospital NICU. These two little girls are turning 3 this year with perfect head formation and development after several months of therapy.
Prevention is the best medicine. Research shows time and again, that getting kids support early prevents problems later.

These two little ones in their early months of age. They were always just the cutest! So glad for their success!
